Social Media: Is Pinterest Worth It?
Apr 11th
You’ve probably heard something in the last couple of months about Pinterest. For those who may have missed the news, Pinterest is a new social media platform. It allows users to create visual boards (think old fashioned cork boards) and to virtually pin photos of the things they like, they find of interest, they wish they had, ideas, etc.
The last thing anyone who markets their own business – online and off - needs is yet another social media platform that requires time and resources. But, before you dismiss the newest social media More >
Communications: Color and It’s Role in Branding
Apr 9th
Ask any graphic artist and they’ll tell you that color is a critical element in the design of any and all communications and in company branding. It sends subliminal messages about you, your website, your twitter or Facebook page, your company, your store and your brand.

It gives readers a good overview of the pros and cons of each social media platform along with some helpful tips and the lingo.
The only thing I would add is that if you are serious about social media, you should start with the platform most used by your current customers. By leveraging your relationship with your current customers, your chances for success become much higher.
Marketing in the Making [INFOGRAPHIC]
Feb 9th
I bumped into this very cool Infographic from HubSpot outlining the history of marketing and all of its various transformations. From town crier, to print, all the way to today. For someone who has seen her share of transformations in the field, it is a good reminder that the morphing of marketing has not and will not end. It is continuous, requiring those of us in marketing to be prepared for more changes down the road.
What do you think the future holds for marketing?
History of Marketing Infographic From: HubSpot Marketing SoftwareOnline For One Minute

One minute or 60 seconds online with Facebook may not seem like a lot of time. Although, like many of us, you probably have said to yourself that you’ll just spend 5 minutes on Facebook and get back to work. Next thing you know, you actually spent 30 minutes online. Well, the Big Picture has put together an infographic to show exactly how much activity occurs online every 60 seconds.
Facebook is a busy bee hive of activity with almost 700,000 new status updates and 80,000 wall posts generating 510,000 comments. Chances are this volume will grow as Facebook continues to expand its More >
