It’s a “hot one” in the Northwest.
It’s been a hot one for the last 30 days.
And, worse, it has been humid. Urrrgggg.
But nothing will spoil a good old 4th of July celebration.
This is why we are packing up, taking our dogs and buns and heading out to the coast where it will be 30 degrees cooler.
It is certainly too darn hot in Portland, OR. This is why we are packing up and heading to the coast. It will be 30 degrees cooler and much more enjoyable.
If, like us, you are in a business where you can close the doors and take a break, do it! Why?
One reason is you probably deserve it.
Another reason is there are only 6 more months in the year and now is the perfect time to take a break and ask yourself some serious questions between the burnt dogs and beer. Like what?
Are you making progress on your goals?
If you’ve been lagging, how can you turn it around and do so quickly?
Is your heart still in it or have you been allowing the day-to-day stuff to drag you down?
If so, what steps can you take to make it fun again?
Are you finding it more difficult to find new customers?
What are you doing with your current customers? Are you ignoring a gold mine in your hip pocket?
Go ahead and enjoy the 4th, but spend an hour or two this weekend asking yourself these and other questions about how to improve your business.
Sometimes the best ideas come when you’re away from your business and just having fun. Tap into that relaxed feeling and follow through on those ideas next Monday.
In the meantime, have a great 4th of July celebration and, whatever you do, stay safe.
