Early Marketing Insights on Pinterest Usage
I shared some preliminary results concerning Pinterest and its heady rise as a traffic power house last week.
Here are some additional marketing insights in an infographic format I found on SocialFresh regarding Pinterest and its Pinerly beta findings. For those who may not be aware, Pinerly will represent a Pinterest tracking dashboard. The intent is to add more marketing bells and whistles once Pinterest releases its API.
SocialFresh has been testing Pinerly in a private beta and while the service is currently limited, there are some interesting marketing trends. These findings (refer to infographic below) are not too unusual and follow some standard social media engagement policies already established in other venues. But some information on Pinterest is always better than none.
- Best times to post during the day – 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. EST
- Best times to post in the evening – 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. EST
- Writing a description and call to action for each pin is key
- Using popular boards with high subscriber numbers
If you’re interested in Pinerly, you can sign-up for an invite and a message that encourages you to…
“share your unique link on Facebook and Twitter to get ahead of your competition! Invite friends, co-workers, family… you get the point. Friends qualify you for an earlier invite and bonus features.”
Be aware there are additional tracking tools popping up for Pinterest. As I collect more information about these tools, I’ll share.
