Who knew that those all of those crazy free mobile apps could actually be saving small business money? I didn’t. At least, not before reading this little piece from Inc.

As the apps market continues to grow, so do small business savings, finds a new report.
Apps are responsible for allowing small business owners to eliminate an estimated 725.3 million yearly employee hours, reports Bloomberg Business Week. That productivity increase yields $17.6 billion in annual savings.
Small businesses are increasingly reliant on mobile applications, an AT&T survey found last year. Almost three-fourths of small businesses—those with between two and 50 employees—reported using mobile apps to conduct business.
But before you go blaming apps for reduced employment: Apps have also created 466,000 jobs since 2007, according to a study by TechNet, a bipartisan policy-making organization design to promote technological innovation. –John McDermott
