I was busy checking into my various social media accounts last week, when out of the blue, I spied this request from Tracy Sestili, CEO of Social Strand Media on Twitter. She was asking me to do an interview for her blog. How nice is that?
For those of you who don’t consider yourself savvy about social media, these types of requests and connections happen all the time and are really a nice treat. I gain exposure to Tracy’s audience and she doesn’t have to create new material for her blog. It’s a win-win alliance. These are the type of opportunities one can create through social media and they can be extremely helpful to small business.
If you’re a small business looking for ways to maximize your reach and effectiveness online or off, go ahead and borrow Tracy’s idea. Look around in your social media networks to see who you can align with and reach out. Do your due diligence and make certain you see eye-to-eye on the basics and that your strengths compliment one another.
Small business owners dependent upon a local community can tap into this idea as well. There are lots of non-competitive small business owners in the same boat you are. Some are probably on your block. Work together and leverage each others skills and resources to maximize your efforts. You’ll be richly rewarded. I promise.
